1967 Gibson Firebird

This guitar belongs to my dad, one of his most prized possessions (other than his music collection) . He purchased this back in the fall of 1967 when he was just 20 years old. To this day, he has never learned how to play the guitar.

nice shot. i like the light, color and composition. for some reason the DOF in the front feels a little awkward.

Great shot Melissa. I think you got it just right. it brings your attention right in and is well balanced. But that's the great thing about photography, we all see it differently and no one is right or wrong.

Beautiful guitar although I'm more of an SG fan. I have one in cherry red but I don't play too well either!

You know, now that I'm looking at it again today, I seem to be looking at it differently. Yesterday, my eyes were immediately going to the part of the image that was most in the "front" -- which made it a bit awkward because the very front is not the part in focus. Today, my eyes are immediately going to the part in focus, and it doesn't look awkward. Maybe I've just been looking at too many photos! ;) I guess the thing about DOF is that in real life when you move your eyes the focus changes, but not in photos.
