Green Shirt, Grey HatPosted by Melissa W. (Warsaw, Indiana, United States) on 7 March 2008 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. Another one of my personal favorites. I really love the mood of this. We will be traveling to Memphis, TN in May to see my stepson graduate from high school. Can't wait to see him again. Very excited about seeing Memphis...never been there before. Aside from Graceland, any other suggestions/recommendations of things to see...or places to eat? Thanks in advance.

Gary from Cochise County, United StatesThis is a fantastic portrait. You really are setting a mood with this one. 8 Mar 2008 5:39am @Gary: Thank you so much, Gary. :) pedro alexandre from loures, Portugalnice portrait good use of light, i hate taking pictures of people i don't know why. 8 Mar 2008 6:59pm @pedro alexandre: I find your comment really interesting. Have to tell you though, I never really thought that I'd enjoy portraits either. In the beginning, it gave me something/someone to photograph while I was learning my camera. Now I enjoy portraits as much, if not slightly more than nature images...can't explain why. I absolutely struggle at landscapes, which is unfortunate because I love landscape images. That is why I admire photographers like you who have been blessed with such an amazing gift. Thanks for the comment. drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomNever been to memphis so no suggestions from me. I loke the finish on this portrait - was it LAB processing? Dan 10 Mar 2008 8:11pm @drphoto: No LAB mode on this. Honestly, all I did to this was run high pass sharpen to it, slight levels adjustment, and a curve adjustment to add a bit of contrast. Oh, and I added a very slight vignette. that's it. :) |
