Jrask from Pasadena, United StatesWow, great lighting on this image! Wonderful :) 27 Mar 2008 5:11am @Jrask: Thank you very much. :) @Bonj: Thank you, Bonj. Suzanne Labbé from Granby, CanadaWow, you discovered a photographer's paradise :o)) Great picture. 27 Mar 2008 1:01pm @Suzanne Labbé: Thank you so much, Suzanne. MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomIt's amazing where birds will nest. A wonderful image Melissa. 27 Mar 2008 3:30pm @MaryB: I don't think this image would have the same "feeling" without the nest...that's my favorite part. Thank you so much, Mary. :) danthro from Suburbia, United StatesGreat shot. love the processing. gives it sort of an (for lack of a better term) rugged old western look. excellent. 27 Mar 2008 5:16pm @danthro: Thanks, danthro. All I did was add a levels and curves adjustment and then a vignette...that's it. I'm really pleased how this turned out. Thanks again. :) Melissa from Layton, UT, United StatesVery cool shot. I love the contrast of the white and the wood ... and you are right, the next makes the shot! 27 Mar 2008 6:30pm @Melissa: Thank you so much, Melissa. :) Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaGreat shot , colours, contrast and texture are fantastic. 27 Mar 2008 7:53pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesThe contrast is what strikes me, also. It almost looks like you've desaturated the wood background ... it's so richly weathered and grainy. Beautiful light and composition, as well. 27 Mar 2008 10:43pm e nelsonian from Pasadena, United Statesthe lighting throughout is excellent. professional look. 28 Mar 2008 1:37am @e nelsonian: Thank you so much. GJC from Kyoto, JapanThis is striking, and I agree with everyone that the lighting is very good, very even. Like the dark background. 28 Mar 2008 3:39am Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsMy brother (lightwriter.aminus3.com) will love this, he had such a skull hanging on the wall of his kitchen for a long time! 28 Mar 2008 11:54am @Illuci: Thank you for the very nice comments, Erik. Very much appreciated. :) amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaYou're right, the nest really does make this image. NICELy done! 28 Mar 2008 2:09pm Edward James from Derry, United StatesVery daunting. I love the shadow that casts around it. Vignette? 29 Mar 2008 1:32pm @Edward James: Yep, it's a vignette. ;) pedro alexandre from loures, Portugalevery thing is perfect, but the textures on the rope and woods, are great, hard photo to balance, white subject and dark background, its like taking a picture of a swan in an lake!! dificult. 29 Mar 2008 3:29pm @pedro alexandre: Thank you for the very kind words, Pedro. Your encouragement is always very much appreciated. :) the lightwriter from oosterwolde, NetherlandsHi Melissa. beautiful. The dead care for the new-born this way. Thats how t was, is and will be. Great picture. 29 Mar 2008 8:59pm @the lightwriter: I never thought about that way until I read your comment. Beautiful statement. Now when I look at the image, I can't believe I didn't make that connection before. Thank you so very much for the comment; you are very right. :) James from Rice Lake, United StatesWonderful shot! Definitely been hanging there a while... :) The nest and rope are great! You might want to try the shot dead on with a telephoto in order to get the boards vertical - I have no idea if it would be better or not, but it would keep the boards from being at different angles. 29 Mar 2008 9:17pm @James: That's a wonderful suggestion...I'll have to remember that. Thank you, James. :) Henry from Boston, United StatesI like this shot. I like the subject and what you've done with the color. Really nice job. 31 Mar 2008 3:37pm @Henry: Thank you, Henry. drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomI'm late on the scene! I'm afraid I have nothing new to say: this is indeed a wonderful shot. beautifully exposed and nicely processed (I like the vignette - it works here) and the nest does make the shot more interesting. Dan 1 Apr 2008 11:23am @drphoto: Thank you, Dan. :) I'm glad you like it. |
