I have always loved this old barn. I remember when I was younger when my dad painted a picture of it. Unfortunately he sold the painting a long time ago, but at least I have this. This round barn is located on US HWY 13 near North Webster, IN.

well shot image. I am glad it has sentimental value.

It's a beautiful scene, Melissa ... a nice composition with the well-defined foreground and lush, dense background really set off the barn with that great cupola on top.

Nice shot. I like the round barn with the contrast of the urban manicured lawn in the foreground and rural field in the background.

awesome pic; i love these old round barns too; there are a few around here, although one recently collapsed in upon itself...
so the subject matter is great, but the pic is excellent technically, too. love the framing, the tones, the dpth to the shot. the mist is great; not the easiest thing to capture. all-in-all, a great shot. well done!

@paulski: I LOVE old rustic barns...even though I've been asked more than once what I'm doing photographing their barn (not this one, a different barn...) Anyway, thanks for lovely comment.
Super.

Lovely! Really like the how the mist rising from the water gives an air of early morning calm.

I’m with Amy about that mist rising off the lake . . it makes your excellent shot even more special.

beautiful shot. love how you caught that mist. if there're any benches, looks like a great place to sit and read.

@danthro: I pass this barn almost daily...I just love it. As always, thank you very much. :)
This is a precious image for you. You captured it very well!

I'm with everyone else here. The fog coming off the pond adds so much to this. I don't know what time of day this was taken but it has an early morning feel to it. Great eye! Love it.

@Edward James: This was taking around 9am-ish...I was starting to lose the "early" morning light...we had patchy fog that day (mainly in the low lying areas/fields). HWY 13 is a pretty busy road, so I'm sure I looked pretty funny or at least up to no good standing in a ditch with my camera.
Lovely capture of an unusual barn. The mist adds atmosphere. Very nice composition--with tree placement to complement the barn.
