@Rags: Thank you so much, Kanyi. I'm a big fan of your work as well. :) Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomWhat a compelling series this is. I’m starting to recognize some of the faces! 2 Apr 2008 8:43am Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesSuch beauty ... a very sweet shot, Melissa. I can hardly wait to see who's next! 2 Apr 2008 9:17am @Ron: I haven't decided how many more from this series I will upload. Not all of them have turned out as nice as these...Plus I don't want to bore people with my family photos. ;) I've been really surprised by the positive response I've received on these so far. To me, these images are special because they are my family; I didn't expect other people to appreciate them as much as I do. Suzanne Labbé from Granby, CanadaSuperbe.. Décidément, ce patio procure une excellente lumière. J'adore cette série. Bravissimo. 2 Apr 2008 9:36am @Suzanne Labbé: Thank you so much, Suzanne. I'm so glad you've enjoyed these. @chris chisu: Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Your pblog, btw, is absolutely amazing. Brilliant work. Thanks for the compliment. I'm relatively new to photography, so I appreciate all the support and encouragement. Thank you. danthro from Suburbia, United Stateswow. this is a really great one. very sweet. great light and processing as usual. is this your sister? in any case, i like how the 'mother' looks sort of better than the 'daughter'--more natural looking here i think. 2 Apr 2008 5:30pm @danthro: Yes, this is my sister, Monica. I did a few shots of her by herself, so by the time we did these she had loosened up a bit. And what's interesting is that this image was taken before I shot the ones of M. by herself, which probably explains why she didn't look as "natural". Thank you very much for the compliment. :) Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaBeautiful, again. You really have a knack for portraits 2 Apr 2008 7:38pm @Graham Russon: Thank you very much, Graham. :) standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceAnother superb one. I am amazed by the way you capture the light! 2 Apr 2008 9:12pm @standley: Wow, thank you very much, Standley. Very much appreciated. :) Sandrine from Cincinnati, United Statesgreat portraits, I love the color tones... 2 Apr 2008 9:21pm Gary from Cochise County, United StatesHow lucky your family is to get professional portraits at home. Nice work again. 3 Apr 2008 1:49am MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomAnother absolutely georgous portrait Melissa. 3 Apr 2008 10:59pm GJC from Kyoto, JapanThis, as with the others, has a wonderful, comfortable feel to it. That's the advantage to taking portraits of people we know well; they tend to look more like "themselves." I like the composition and crop here, too. I like, for example, how the weighted "center" of the image where daughter and mother meet is just off to the right. Well done. 3 Apr 2008 11:25pm Wysterior from Kloten, SwitzerlandBeautiful shot - brilliant photo - lovely faces and wonderful eyes !!! Surrounded by perfect coloured pullovers ;) 6 Apr 2008 5:35pm |
