Docks are another favorite of mine but now that I live in the desert I don't get to shoot them much. Good use of light and contrast of the lines on the dock against the smooth reflection.
I love the composition and, oh my! the light. Isn't it marvelous. I think it says more about me than you, but I would have run out there and taken that little leaf out of the pier. Ain't I terrible or sick (or both)? But it's a lovely, lovely image.

@GJC: I'm a little surprised (in a good way) by your enthusiastic response. And what's funny is that I almost took that little leaf out, but decided that it was interesting. And yes, I thought the light was marvelous. And no, I don't think you're terrible or sick; however, now that you mention it...;)
I've been sick (for real) the past couple of days, so I'm a little behind on my replies and visiting everyone's pblog. I've got a lot of catching up to do. Thanks for the comment. :)
What a magnificent shot, the angles and composition are perfect. And good move leaving the leaf there, great beauty often comes from blemishes. Good work.
Good picture, but the little leaf appeared to me as a little hand stuck between the planks, of someone very small hanging down the pier :), sorry I couldn't help thinking it.

I like the leaf - it adds interest but there is a lot of intriquing aspects to this anyway
