When I look at this it makes me wonder who tied this ribbon around this tree...
This was taken while I was out for a walk looking for things to photograph. When I came upon this tree, I had an immediate reaction...I loved it.
Pike Lake Warsaw, IN October 2007.
A lovely shiny contrast to the bark. Excellent!

Mmmm! it would be interesting to know the meaning (if any) of the ribbon around the tree. I love the textures of the bark and the smoothness of the ribbon. Well spotted Melissa.

I often wonder about how and who left an imprint on the things that I encounter ... I suppose that's a part of my inquisitive nature. This is a beautiful study in contrasting textures.

@Ron: Thank you very much, Ron. That's what I love about just walking around and finding these little treasures. I'm sure most people overlook these kind of things, but I love imagining what the story is behind an image like this. Things lost and forgotten...kinda sounds like a book.
As always, thank you. :)
Well spotted, a good photo intrigues the viewer as to the story behind the shot, as does this. Like the dof and composition. Good work (as always)

@Richard_Irwin: Thank you very much, Richard. Perhaps you're right about the fairies; they always seem to be up to some mischief...;)
