There are so many squirrels that have made this cemetery their home. I took a lot of squirrel pictures hoping that one would turn out. This is it. ;)
He/she's a very dark little critter! Great contrast and detail in this shot, Melissa ... beautiful DOF ...

Nice composition. I especially like the tree leaning right and the squirrel taking our eyes left, which gives nice balance.

Very good image, and the little squirrel has been caught just right.

I like the contrast of light and dark, with the dark squirrell and the light tree.

Yup definitely the one. A great balanced shot, ditto gjc's ovservatin. The texture of the tree, and the dof, are great. Good work.

@Graham Russon: Thanks, Graham. :)
love them black squirrels; are the indigenous to this region? regardless, a nice capture...

@paulski: Around here, I've mostly seen the black ones and the reddish-tan ones...every once in awhile I'll see a gray one. According to wiki, the black squirrels are commonly found in the Midwest. Who knew?
Ha ha, thats a cute rodent, are they a distinct species of squirrel, or melanistic grey squirrels? We have black squirrels here, but they are just melanistic greys.

@Richard_Irwin: Thanks, Richard. After doing some research, I found that "black squirrels are a melanistic phase of the Eastern Grey Squirrel. They are common in midwestern North America and, in some places, outnumber the grey squirrels by a ratio of about ten to one." - wiki
Very nice capture. I like the lighting and the DOF! Great pose.

Your light really brings out the detail. I have never seen a black squirrel so this was a treat. Your infamous DOF payed off again. :)
