Taken at one of the concession stands overlooking Lake Michigan at Warren Dunes State Park in Michigan. This park is packed during the summertime, so it was nice being there when there were only a handful of people around.

Really a terrific shot, Melissa ... I love the starkness, the sharp contrasts, and the strong lines. The softness of the lake in the background really stands up well to the warmer tones in the foreground. Sweet shot!

nice! this is a little bit different from what i associate with 'normal' for your shots, probably because of the composition, which is very nice. like the crisp lines and how geometric it is. but i still recognize the lighting. ;)

@danthro: I was wondering what you were going to say about this. ;) I really tried to push myself as far as composition goes. At first I wasn't sure what I was going to photograph, then it hit me when I looked up and saw the light and shadows. What can I say, I'm drawn to the light. ;)

Very well done and here you make outstanding use of light and shadow. I'm viewing this and tomorrow's in reverse order and must say that tomorrow's is hands-down the better. It's like the idea came to you in this one, and then the execution came to you in the next. Really fine work.
