i'm impressed by the dynamic range here; you get a lot of interior detail, without blowing out the sky. well done!

I love the geometry of this composition, Melissa, and the contrast is so, so sweet. This shot belongs in the Lake Michigan Hall of Fame. And don't think for a moment that I didn't notice that bench over there ... calling me to sit and enjoy!

@Ron: LOL - Well, I don't know if it belongs in the HoF or not...though I am happy how it turned out. Ahh the bench...as I posted on your bench image today, I just love them. I think it has to do with the idea of how they beckon you to stop whatever it is you're doing and just sit, be quiet, and just take in your surroundings. Thanks, Ron. :)
this is fantastic, like everything about this image, angle of view, composision, simplicity and color...bravo !

@alex centrella: Wow, thank you so very much, Alex. I wasn't expecting that kind of a compliment. Your kind words are very much appreciated. :)
nice! love the composition and colors. i guess the midwest doesn't look so dreary from this point of view. what time of year was this taken?

@danthro: This was taken a couple of days ago (Wednesday). The weather was perfect (high 60s, light breeze). Warren Dunes State Park is located in Berrien County, Michigan, and receives one million visitors annually. This was my first time visiting...it really is beautiful. I hope to make the drive up there again before the busy summer season starts.
The Midwest isn't that bad...;)
This is a great shot, sort of messes with the senses with the calm sea, abruptly stopped by the structure. Great stuff.

This is about as good as it can get. The geometry is superb, and the handling of light is likewise. You have made geometry not only out of the structural elements, but from the light as well. Wow.

@GJC: Thank you very much, GJC. Your work has inspired me to stop and really look for shapes and patterns created by the light. When we first arrived I had no idea what I was going to photograph, so I just stood there and looked around...then it hit me. You're right, the shot before this was when the idea first struck me. That's amazing that you knew that. Thanks again for the compliment and for the inspiration.
Outstanding Composition
