Memphis in May Finale

My husband took these firework shots; I cropped and processed them.
The city had a big celebration marking the end of Memphis in May with a concert by The Four Tops and fireworks afterwards.

Yeah, he seems to have a better knack for landscapes, which I'm horrible at. ;)

Terrific, Melissa ... good team effort! Did he use a tripod or have the camera sitting on a stable surface? With July 4th approaching I'm gathering information for any attempts I might make at shooting fireworks.

@Ron: He used a tripod and timer (my remote for the 30D doesn't fit the XTi) Going through his pics, looks like the longer the exposure, the better they were. He used his 70-300mm lens; although, he did try his 18-55mm lens, but the results weren't as pleasing. Hope this helps! :)

Wonderful achievement, this picture, photographing fireworks is not the easiest piece of cake, but this one is brilliant!

Lovely shot, fireworks are difficult to shoot, especially on a timer. A very stable shot, fantastic work.

Nice shot and processing by Mr. & Mrs. W.! :) I hear fireworks are hard to photograph, but I haven't tried it yet. Guess I'll have to give it a shot on the 4th of July, that's pretty much the only time I see fireworks.
