The light was a little harsher than I would have preferred, but I still like how this turned out. This is the big sister of the twin little girls.

Obviously bright light but your subject did well with it ... no squinting or frowning ... and it really lights up the bright colors! Beautiful DOF and great framing ... another winner, Melissa!

I love the way it turned out.

yes, she does have sort of a mature, older sister aura about her. something about her expression makes me imagine she was having a lot of fun posing and being photographed by you. excellent processing, though interestingly the light is a bit brighter than normal Melissa-style light :)

@danthro: I LOVED photographing her. She's such a beauty. This girl had 15 inches of her hair cut off earlier that day to give to Locks of Love! I could not imagine her with long hair.
Well, what can I say, we did this photoshoot earlier in the evening than normal. Wasn't sure how the 2 1/2 yr olds would do if it were later. I had a lot of problems with the sun being too bright. I had Shelby alternate holding a diffuser, which was too small, and a reflector on some of the photos. There wasn't a cloud in the sky that evening to help diffuse the light even; so needless to say, even if it wasn't my normal "Melissa-style light", I'm happy with how they turned out. ;)
Flash, relfector?

@Twelvebit: Neither...that, my friend, is pure sun. Not sure how she did it without squinting.
