This was taken last Thursday evening. No reflectors, just the beautiful golden evening light.
I really enjoyed photographing this young man. He was very quiet and shy and would rather have been back inside playing video games than having family portraits taken (can't say that I blame him...I, also, don't enjoy having my picture taken).
I think he would've looked away from the camera for the whole session if I'd let him. Prior to this shot, he was looking down. I asked him to look up and this is what I got. I like how this captures a bit of his shyness and boyish smile.

Oh yes Melissa, I think you have captured his shy teenage personality perfectly...boys are so camera conscious aren't they and it's such a pity because most of them take such agorgeous pics!!! The colours in this are brilliant!! Great shot all round

You hit the nail on the head ... it certainly does capture his shyness and boyish smile ... really sweet. I love the way you've photographed him ... on his home turf. Beautiful work, Melissa!

You have, indeed, captured for us a glimpse of his personality. Portraits are not my 'thing' but I know a good one when I see one. Impressive.
