This is great in B&W, Melissa. You really nailed the composition with the terrific symmetry ... the archway over the two doors and then a window on each side. The other aspect of this shot that really makes it work is your attention to detail with respect to "squaring" the image ... you've used the brick along the top to square the image which reinforces the gentle slope in the foreground.

I'm curious ... which images did you choose to submit for the exhibition you were considering entering? rll

the composition with the front wheel of the bike hidden and the slanted street puts one off balance but in a cool way that makes the shot more interesting. like the soft vignette too
